The third and final day of the Over 55’s Four Nations tournament and a 3-0 victory for England Veterans against Northern Ireland on Sunday 7th September.

In glorious sunshine England started quickly and unlike the last two games managed to convert early chances with Adi Harris notching twice to put England in a comfortable lead at half time.

Northern Ireland never gave up and continued to work hard to keep England at bay. But late in the game, England Player/Manager Andy Cranch crossed for Martin Thorpe to tuck away a third goal.

There was still time for England to get a penalty but the Irish keeper made a great save to keep the scoreline at 3-0.

In the other game, Wales beat Maccabi 2-1 to make it three wins out of three and retain the Over 55’s Four Nations Challenge Cup. England finished second with 4 points, Northern Ireland third with 3 and Maccabi fourth with 1 point.

Congratulations to Wales and thanks to all the match officials and to Maccabi for hosting a great tournament.
