A convincing 4-0 victory on Sunday 8th March for England Veterans’ Over 60’s on the south coast against East Sussex, the Over 60’s National Cup finalists.
England felt in control from start to finish against a very spirited East Sussex who did have a couple of really good chances to score.
England took the lead after 25 minutes with a John Regan penalty and he added a second with a great strike to make it 2-0 going in to half time.
England added a third just after the restart – Jeff Hamlet finishing neatly after being put through.
The game got a bit scrappy as both sides made changes but it wasn’t long before Reagan tucked away a third to complete his hat trick and seal the victory.
Our thanks to the match officials and to East Sussex for their excellent hospitality. We wish them the best when they play Worcestershire in the Over 60’s National Cup final on 19th April in Hampshire.
