A close 2-1 win for England Veterans’ Over 55’s in a feisty encounter with Cartagena Veterans in Spain on Thursday 23rd April.

England started well, creating chances but it was the hosts who took the lead and they were still winning 1-0 at half time.

Early in the second half, England got a penalty after a home player handled and stopped a certain goal. Up stepped in form David Gipp who’s penalty just made it over the line to make it 1-1.

England then piled on the pressure and a great headed goal by Dave Taylor put England in front.

Cartagena bounced back but England held out for a narrow victory.

England now head to the Condado tournament in Murcia on Saturday 25th in good spirits.
