England Veterans’ Over 75’s narrowly lost out in the final of the Grand Veteran Masters Cup on Friday 8th May in Copenhagen.

They topped their group following two 5-0 victories on day one of the competition and on day two overcame Roskilde 3-0 in the semi-final despite injuries leaving the squad stretched to the limit.

The final against HG Zealand was a close and competitive contest. England played some excellent football and enjoyed plenty of possession, but a strong Danish side secured a 2-0 win.

The whole squad should be incredibly proud of their performances and the way they represented England throughout the tournament, earning praise from players and spectators alike.

Special mention to Tony Platman, who finished as England’s top scorer with an incredible 8 goals!

After the presentations, all players enjoyed a BBQ to round off a brilliant competition and a thoroughly enjoyable trip.

Our thanks to the match officials, to the organisers and to Akademisk Boldklub for use of their excellent facilities.
