A deserved 2-0 victory for England Veterans’ Over 55’s in the away game against Wiltshire Veterans’ Over 50’s on Sunday 17th May.
England started brightly, moving the ball confidently and creating a number of early chances. Their positive start was rewarded with two well-taken goals from Richard Alder, whose clinical finishing gave England an early 2–0 advantage.
The second half proved to be a much closer contest. England took the opportunity to give several trialists valuable run-outs – all acquitted themselves well and contributed positively. Wiltshire enjoyed more possession but couldn’t reduce the deficit.
England remained organised and saw the game out to record a pleasing 2–0 win.
Many thanks to the match officials and to Wiltshire and Stanley Park for hosting the game and their generous hospitality .
