England Veterans’ Over 60’s regained the Frank Terrell Cup with a 3-1 win against a very strong Wales on Sunday 19th July in Leicestershire.

England took the lead after 20 minutes when Andy Cranch’s corner was headed home by Colin Fulloway. Within 5 minutes Wales got back on level terms but just before half time another Cranch corner was headed home by John Regan. 2-1 to England at the break.

The second half saw England attack and create plenty of chances but it wasn’t until late in the game when a great team move saw Pete Ward volley a super cross from Ada Topley into the roof of the net to ensure victory.

Our thanks to the match officials and to Kirby Muxloe Football Club for use of their facilities.

The win extends the Over 60’s unbeaten run to 12 games and they regain the trophy which Wales won back in November 2023.
