A 2-0 defeat for England Veterans’ Over 60’s ‘A’ team against the Republic of Ireland on Saturday 19th September in County Kildare.

In very windy conditions, it was Ireland who broke the deadlock just before half time – England’s defence waited for an offside flag which never came and Ken O’Keeffe converted.

In the second half, England had the ball in the net but it was ruled out for handball and they failed to score despite ample opportunities.

Ireland secured the win with a second goal from Glyn Keeton and should have added a third when they shot over from two yards.

Congratulations to the Republic of Ireland for a deserved victory.
