A narrow 1-0 defeat for an England Veterans’ mixed age Over 55/60’s team against Devon Over 50’s on Friday 2nd October under the floodlights in Newton Abbot.

The game was played to celebrate launch of the Devon Over 50’s representative team in what proved to be a great advert for senior veterans football.

Devon took the lead after just two minutes and stayed on top during the early stages of the game. It was only the form of Man of the Match, England keeper Darren Steadman that kept the score down with some super saves.

Once England settled they did create opportunities and hit the post twice but Devon continued to play some great high tempo football but couldn’t increase their lead.

Our thanks to the match officials and to the Devon FA for use of their excellent headquarters at Coach Road.
