England Veterans’ Over 50’s swept aside a competent but bewildered Republic of Ireland 13-1 on Sunday 1st November in Cambridgeshire.

Manager Steve Edkins was making his 100th international appearance for England Veterans and he partnered Mark Bellingham up front who scored six and then assisted Kerry Giddings to put England seven to the good at half time.

Bellingham then helped himself to his seventh before goals flowed from Alex Sykes, Kevin Marsden, Captain Richard Vercesi and Paul Betson before Giddings scored his second.

Republic of Ireland scored a consolation midway through the second half.

Our thanks to the match officials and to the Elite Football Complex for hosting the game.
