Another goal fest for England Veterans as their Over 60’s beat Republic of Ireland 10-0 on Sunday 1st November in Cambridgeshire.

Ireland lost a few players beforehand to County Cup fixtures and injuries and faced an England side who bombarded their goal from the first minute.

Micheal Hart got on the end of a fine move to open the scoring and the same man made it two soon after. Richard Brannam knocked in the third from close range and Martin Thorpe headed home the fourth before half time.

England continued to dominate in the second half and Ada Topley chipped in with a remarkable five goal haul which included two headers and Tony Wright added the tenth with a great curling shot.

Fair play to the Republic of Ireland, they never gave up despite the scoreline.

Our thanks to the match officials and to the Elite Football Complex for use of their facilities.
