A resounding 13-2 victory for England Veterans’ Over 60’s against the Celtic League of Nations in Port Talbot on Tuesday 10th March.
England struck early doors when John Regan carried on his rich goal scoring form to put England one up. The goals came quickly – Alan Osman scored a hat trick and Graham Pearce made it five. The Celtic League never gave up and responded with two cracking long range goals to give them some hope of getting back into the game but just before half time Osman scored his fourth to make it 6-2 at the break.
England added more goals in the second half. Andy Cranch, Peter Ward and Russ Baker all netted whilst Pearce added to his total and super striker Osman ended up scoring seven!
A big shout out to the Celtic League of Nations’ keeper Annalise Britton who made some super saves keeping the score down. And our thanks to David Allen for arranging the game and to Port Talbot Town AFC for hosting such a brilliant day of football.
The Celtic League of Nations generously issued Caps to the England players to commemorate the match. Many thanks.
