A 5-0 victory in the scorching heat for England Veterans Over 55’s against Celtic Nations on Monday 25th May in Swansea.

England started brightly with Stafford Browne opening the scoring early on. They continued to dominate but Celtic Nations threatened an equaliser only for England goalkeeper Mark Bedford to preserve the lead with an excellent one-on-one save.

England soon doubled their advantage. Browne grabbed his second with a superb header from a well-delivered corner to send England into the break with a deserved 2–0 lead.

Celtic Nations nearly pulled a goal back immediately after half-time, but their effort drifted narrowly wide.

Ricky Cornish added a third goal to put England firmly in command before Stacey Dawes struck twice to complete an impressive five-star display and seal a comprehensive 5–0 victory.

Stafford Browne was awarded Man of the Match.

Our thanks to the match officials and to Morriston Town Football Club for hosting the game.
