A 3-2 victory on penalties for England Veterans’ Over 75’s in the 1966 World Cup commemorative game against Germany on Thursday 30th July in Greater Manchester.

Germany went closest to scoring, hitting the post from a penalty but the game finished 0-0 after normal time.

For a change, England just edged Germany out when it came to penalties.

Our thanks to the match officials, Dermot Gallagher, Chris Banks and Brian Kirk and to Oldham Athletic Football Club for staging the whole event. Much appreciated.

Thanks also to the English and German officials, Managers and players who made this commemorative game possible and of course the supporters, who turned up in their droves.

A truly amazing and fitting 60 year tribute to the FIFA World Cup final of 1966. Well done to all involved.
