A 2-2 draw between England Veterans’ Over 70’s ‘A’ team and South West of England Over 65’s on Thursday 23rd July in Buckinghamshire.

In warm conditions, the Over 70’s A’s were unable to capitalise on possession and the South West took the lead through Julian Adams and doubled their advantage before half time with a goal direct from an excellent corner by Dave Williams.

In the second half, England stretched the South West with some very neat football, resulting in their first goal with a header from the tireless Ken Ash.

They then went in search of the equaliser which came direct from a Zolaesque free kick by Roger Steer going in at the far post.

Honours even at 2-2.

Our thanks to referee Dave Tapping and to Beaconsfield Town Football Club for hosting the game.
