A 4-1 victory for England Veterans’ Over 60’s against Ilkley Over 55’s on Sunday 7th June in Yorkshire.
After a sloppy start, England found themselves one down when the home side broke away to score and the hosts were still leading at half time.
England made changes and soon took full control when birthday boy Kevin Barthrop knocked in the rebound after the keeper fumbled Andy Cranch’s long range shot.
The game opened up and within 10 minutes Glen Alzapiedi scored two quick goals before Russ Baker drove a fourth in to the bottom corner to seal the victory.
The win extended the Over 60’s unbeaten run to 10 games.
Our thanks to the match officials and to Ilkley Town Football Club for staging the game.
Also a massive thank you to the host who kindly donated £150 to England Manager Andy Cranch’s keepie uppie challenge on Thursday 11th June.
