A slim 1-0 victory for England Veterans’ Over 60’s against a very competitive Maccabi Over 55’s on Sunday 31st May in Hertfordshire.

Neither side could break the deadlock in the first half though England had the better of the chances and John Regan was so unlucky when his lob beat the keeper but bounced just wide.

England unfortunately lost both Garry Bruce and Martin Thorpe through injury but they finally scored early in the second half when substitute Tony Wright put Regan through who very coolly sat the keeper down before netting from a tight angle.

The game remained in the balance with chances for both sides but England held on for the win.
