National Over 60’s Cup Competition

The inaugural National Cup competition for players over the age of 60 took place in the 2022-23 season and was organised by Oxfordshire’s Kevin Bovington.

The competition is open to any team affiliated with the English Football Association with most teams entering as representative teams for their County, Veterans League or Association.

Games are regionalised to start with and then became national, although some games are played at neutral grounds. In 2023, Lincolnshire won a very competitive final 2-1 against Southend and in 2024 Oxfordshire beat Lincolnshire 2-1. Both finals were played in Leicestershire.

Typically, the following teams participate: Bristol, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, East Sussex, Essex, Farnham and District, Gloucestershire, Kent, Lewes, Lincolnshire, Maccabi, Merseyside, Oxfordshire, Sheffield Leisure United, South West London and Worcestershire.

Another great advert for senior veterans football.
