A mixed first day for England Veterans at the International Super Masters 5 aside World Cup in Copenhagen.

The Over 60’s won 2, drew 1 and lost 3. They unfortunately lost their first three games: 6-3 against Denmark, 3-2 against Republic of Ireland and 2-1 against United Nations. They then drew 1-1 with Northern Ireland before beating Turkey 9-2 and Morocco 6-2.

The Over 65’s fared much better. They won 6 and drew 1. They beat Northern Ireland 3-1 then drew 1-1 with England Old Stars. They beat Hungary 8-0, Republic of Ireland 5-1, United Nations 5-0, USA 2-0 and Switzerland 4-0.

Both teams go again tomorrow. There are 13 teams in each age group. So the 60’s have 6 more games tomorrow and the 65’s just 5. The top two in each age group then contest the finals.
