75 Plus - World Cup

The 75 Plus World Cup has taken place annually since 2022. The first tournament was hosted in Denmark and featured teams from Denmark, England, Wales and United States of America. Covid travel restrictions prevented Far East teams from attending. Japan hosted in 2025 and remarkedly an 80 Plus division was added to the competition.

England versus Wales

A special footballing relationship exists between England and Wales veterans’ football. It has existed ever since the first international fixtures contested between the Over 50’s and Over 55’s at Bisham Abbey, Buckinghamshire in June 2009.

The first Over 75’s game was in July 2024 at St. George’s Park, Staffordshire which England won 7-1. There have been matches home and away every year since. These matches are in addition to those played between the two countries in the World Cup, Nations Cup and other tournaments.

England and Wales Over 75’s contest the Aneurin Bevan Cup – which was donated by England Manager Ken Pollock and named after the Minister of Health who spearheaded creation of the National Health Service in 1948 and contributed towards the founding of the Welfare State. It also acts as a reminder of our aim to try and reduce the burden on the NHS by encouraging a fit and healthy lifestyle and to improve the mental well being of our players and staff.
